Witham Friary is well situated in a beautiful and unspoilt
part of North Somerset, close to the market town of Frome. The land to
the east of Witham is part of the Longleat
estate, famous for the house, grounds and Safari Park. To the south and
only 10 minutes away is Stourhead, also
renowned for its stunning gardens designed by Capability Brown. It is
also equidistant between the cities of Bath and Salisbury and the town of
Sherborne, all of which have plenty to offer,
for example cathedrals, abbeys, quaint and original shops, historical
monuments and some wonderful restaurants. There is always plenty to do,
especially in the summer, as the Southwest of England holds country or
agricultural fairs every week, and every large town has a festival.
